Recommending challenge books
There are a few things to remember before you recommend books to other participants of the challenge:
- You can only recommend books to sub-challenges that you are a member of.
- Recommend books you have read so that you can rate and write a quick comment of your opinion about the book, i.e. always be helpful.
- The only reason to add a book you have not read is if you want to add it to your wish list, e.g. if you want to mark it as a “to be read” book.
Now that we have got the important stuff out of the way, here is how to recommend books to the challenge.
After you have logged in and joined at least one sub-challenge, you will find the blue “Recommend book” button shown below in a number of places, e.g. when viewing sub-challenge books.
A “Recommend book” link will also appear in your profile menu when you join the first sub-challenge as show below.
When you click the “Recommend book” button or link two types of forms for adding books will appear.
- The easiest way to recommend a book is to use the ISBN form shown below if you have the book’s ISBN number and the book is available via ISBN search.
2. If the book you want to recommend is not available via ISBN search you can add it manually by completing the form similar to the one show below.
When completing the form remember to add as much information as possible, e.g. genres, tags, country where the author was born, country where the story is set, if the author is male or female, etc.
Remember you cannot change the country where the author was born as soon as you submit the form so make sure the country and continent are correct. If you make a mistake you can always edit the book. Contact the administrator if you need to change the country where the author was born.
You will find all the books that you have recommended on the “Recommended books” page
