Description:
The Passport is the disturbing portrait of the disintegration of a Germanic community in rural Rumania, a town trapped by oppression and inconceivable harshness. In a tale that becomes a poem thanks to the clarity of its images and the rhythm and cadence of its prose, Mller’s forceful and unvarnished hand sketches the history of a town and its inhabitants, replicating their air of despair, their conflicts, superstitions and dreams.
