A well written memoir about surviving the war that eventually led to the separation between Sudan and South Sudan. Interesting information about living in a displacement camp and the role of the UN there. Ultimately she was able to move to the US while still very young, and was taken in by a loving foster family. A story of hope and renewal for sure. Just a heads up - it's very heavy on Christian content, especially toward the end, as this is her faith base, so if that's distressing to you for any reason this might not be the book to read.
