But one morning the rain stops and news reaches the parish – the electricity is finally arriving. With it comes a lodger to Noel's home, Christy McMahon. Though he can't explain it, Noel knows right then: something has changed. The book is totally heart-warming. It is humorous throughout. You want to read sentences again to ensure you've extracted all the beauty and humour from the words. We've taken to giving friends copies to bring a smile to people's faces.
