Immaculée was one of the speakers at #gls2017. This is where I was introduced to this book.
I was so excited to find out that my local library actually shelved this autobiography and when I got it on Saturday I immediately dived into it's heart-wrenching chapters. The detail in this autobiography is so profound I had to remind myself that I am reading actual events and not some fictional novel I frequently get lost in. Reading the words, and remembering the sincere disposition carried by Immaculée while recounting her horrors, made this a book I could not simply put down. She is an inspiration and I am so grateful to have had the chance to watch her recount her story and to read it through the pages of her autobiography: Left To Tell. Read: 20-21 January 2018.
